Urban Chicken Runner began in 2021 as a passion project among five friends who met while studying game development at the University of Milan. What started as a weekend experiment quickly evolved into something special when our early prototype captivated testers with its addictive gameplay mechanics and charming visual style.

By early 2022, we had secured our first round of funding from a boutique Italian games publisher who shared our vision for creating fun, accessible games for players of all ages. This allowed us to establish our studio in Rome and expand our team with talented artists, programmers, and sound designers.

Our game was inspired by the popular Chicken Road format, but we were determined to create a family-friendly experience completely free of gambling elements. We focused on refining the core mechanics of obstacle avoidance and exploration, adding our own unique twists with varied environments, collectible power-ups, and character progression.

After two years of development, refinement, and extensive player testing, Urban Chicken Runner launched in 2024 to critical acclaim, quickly becoming one of the most downloaded family games in multiple countries. Today, our studio continues to expand with new content updates and exciting projects in development.
